สถาบันวิจัยและพัฒนาอัญมณีและเครื่องประดับแห่งชาติ (องค์การมหาชน) หรือ GIT เป็นหน่วยงานหลักในการส่งเสริมและพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมอัญมณีและเครื่องประดับของประเทศไทยให้เติบโตอย่างยั่งยืนและสามารถแข่งขันได้ในระดับสากล โดยมีภารกิจสำคัญในการยกระดับมาตรฐาน ความรู้ เทคโนโลยี และการออกแบบ เพื่อเพิ่มมูลค่าและสร้างภาพลักษณ์ให้ประเทศไทยเป็น “ศูนย์กลางอัญมณีและเครื่องประดับโลก”
หนึ่งในกลไกสำคัญที่ GIT ใช้ในการขับเคลื่อนอุตสาหกรรมนี้คือ “การประกวดออกแบบเครื่องประดับระดับโลก (GIT World Jewelry Design Awards)” ซึ่งจัดขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่องตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2549 จนถึงปัจจุบัน รวมระยะเวลากว่า 20 ปี การประกวดนี้ได้กลายเป็นเวทีระดับนานาชาติเปิดโอกาสให้นักออกแบบอัญมณีทั้งชาวไทยและต่างประเทศ ได้แสดงศักยภาพด้านความคิดสร้างสรรค์ ถ่ายทอดแรงบันดาลใจ และพัฒนาฝีมือให้เทียบเท่ามาตรฐานสากล
ตลอดระยะเวลาที่ผ่านมา การประกวด GIT World Jewelry Design Awards ได้มีส่วนสำคัญในการพัฒนาและค้นหานักออกแบบรุ่นใหม่ของไทย ให้เข้าสู่วงการอัญมณีระดับโลก และสร้างความภาคภูมิใจให้แก่อุตสาหกรรมเครื่องประดับไทยในเวทีสากล ทั้งยังเป็นช่องทางในการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือระหว่างนักออกแบบ ผู้ผลิต และผู้ประกอบการ ซึ่งนำไปสู่การต่อยอดเชิงพาณิชย์และการขยายตลาดในระดับนานาชาติ
ในปี พ.ศ. 2569 ซึ่งเป็นปีที่โครงการก้าวเข้าสู่การจัดประกวดครั้งที่ 20 นับเป็นโอกาสสำคัญในการเฉลิมฉลองความสำเร็จของโครงการ และตอกย้ำบทบาทของ GIT ในการผลักดันวงการอัญมณีและเครื่องประดับไทยให้เป็นที่ยอมรับบนเวทีโลก และเป็นส่วนสร้างแรงบันดาลใจแก่คนรุ่นใหม่ในอุตสาหกรรมอัญมณีและเครื่องประดับของประเทศต่อไป
หัวข้อการประกวดในปีนี้เชิญชวนนักออกแบบร่วมเฉลิมฉลองวาระครบรอบ 20 ปี ภายใต้แนวคิด “Golden Twenty: A Journey of Brilliance and Artistry” ซึ่งสะท้อนการเดินทางแห่งความวิจิตรของการออกแบบเครื่องประดับในฐานะผลงานสร้างสรรค์ชั้นสูง ผู้เข้าร่วมประกวดสามารถถ่ายทอดมุมมองของ “ความเปล่งประกาย” ผ่านการออกแบบที่สะท้อนเอกลักษณ์ วิสัยทัศน์ และภาษาทางศิลปะของตนเอง แนวคิด “Golden Twenty” สามารถตีความได้ผ่านองค์ประกอบของการออกแบบเครื่องประดับโดยตรง ไม่ว่าจะเป็นรูปทรง (form) ที่สะท้อนความสง่างามและเอกลักษณ์ โครงสร้าง (structure) ที่แสดงถึงความสมดุลและความตั้งใจในการ
สร้างสรรค์ หรือการเลือกใช้วัสดุ (material) ที่สื่อถึงคุณค่า ความประณีต และรสนิยมในระดับสากล รวมถึงการใช้แสง พื้นผิว และรายละเอียด เพื่อเสริมสร้างมิติและการรับรู้ของผลงาน ผู้เข้าร่วมประกวดสามารถนำเสนอผลงานที่สะท้อนความหมายของ “Golden” ในมิติที่หลากหลาย อาทิ ความเปล่งประกาย ความสำเร็จ คุณค่า หรือการพัฒนา โดยถ่ายทอดผ่านเครื่องประดับที่แสดงถึงอัตลักษณ์ ความคิดสร้างสรรค์ และศักยภาพในการออกแบบร่วมสมัย ทั้งในเชิงศิลปะและการผลิตจริง ผลงานที่นำเสนอควรสะท้อนความเป็นเลิศของการออกแบบเครื่องประดับในฐานะผลงานสร้างสรรค์ระดับนานาชาติ ที่ผสานความงาม แนวคิด และทักษะเชิงช่างเข้าไว้อย่างสมบูรณ์
ผู้เข้าร่วมประกวดออกแบบเครื่องประดับ ของทาง GIT ท่านมีสิทธิ์ได้เข้าร่วมแพลตฟอร์มชื่อว่า "GIT Jewelry Design Gallery" ซึ่งจะเป็นแพลตฟอร์มที่จะให้นักออกแบบ และนักสร้างสรรค์ ได้แสดงผลงานการออกแบบเครื่องประดับ พร้อมขายแบบให้กับผู้สนใจทั่วไป / กลุ่มผู้ซื้อ / บริษัท ได้

The competition also serves as a platform for collaboration among designers, manufacturers, and entrepreneurs, leading to commercial opportunities and international market expansion.
In 2026, as the competition marks its 20th anniversary, this milestone represents a significant moment to celebrate the program’s achievements and reaffirm GIT’s commitment to advancing Thailand’s jewelry industry globally, while inspiring the next generation of designers.
This year’s competition invites designers to celebrate this milestone under the theme: Golden Twenty: A Journey of Brilliance and Artistry
This theme reflects two decades of excellence in jewelry design as a form of high creative expression. Participants are encouraged to interpret the concept of “Golden” through designs that embody their unique identity, artistic voice, and creative vision.
The concept may be expressed through the fundamental elements of jewelry design, including form, structure, and material selection. Designers may explore balance, proportion, light interaction, surface treatment, and detailing to create depth and distinction within their work.
Participants may interpret “Golden” in multiple dimensions — such as brilliance, achievement, value, transformation, or creative evolution — expressed through jewelry that demonstrates originality, artistic excellence, and contemporary design capability, with potential for real-world production.
Submitted works should represent excellence in jewelry design as an international creative discipline, integrating aesthetics, concept, and craftsmanship in a cohesive and compelling manner.
Participants in the GIT Jewelry Design Competition will also have the opportunity to be featured on the GIT Jewelry Design Gallery, a platform where designers and creatives can present and sell their jewelry designs to buyers, companies, and the general public.
